I'm A College Student, You See
Nov. 22nd, 2010 12:16 amBiochemistry major, to be exact.
Well, I was a biochemistry major, before they consolidated that, but that's a little fiasco that deserves its own little showcase.
It's a little after midnight, and I'm watching To Catch A Predator. (I know, don't I lead such an exciting life?) My tests are taken (two days before the due date, with a high B). I'm a day ahead on my NaNoWriMo project. (Bond, which also will get its own little showcase.) Two tins of fudge sit cooling in my mini fridge. (Okay, so it's not fudge, but it's a delicious fudge-like brick of peanut buttery goodness, and my RA is a nice person who deserves yumminess.)
For the first time in a month, I don't have homework hanging over my head.
Ergo, it was time to begin the blog. For reals this time, yo.
I'll be upfront. I'm a nerdy. Nerdilicousness complete with State Champion Quiz Bowl ring. But this blog isn't just about me being nerdy. See, there are these great people in my life.
These people are all also completely insane.
While I'm pretty boring, being surrounded by these zany, beautiful, wonderful people gives great certainty that every day will bring something new. Sometimes, it's just an awesome joke or a fun story. Sometimes, it's our school cafeteria burning down. (I'll update the world on that tomorrow.) Sometimes, it's drama.
It makes every day a little bit uncertain, which is disconcerting to a girl who runs confidence intervals at least three times I day.
But even if I'm a little freaked-out, and even if my comfort zone is being shattered to pieces, even amidst a forlorn student union, The Trojan Women, a Japanese class that eats my soul, and the general pits and valleys of being a college freshman, one thing is perfectly clear.
It's going to be one hell of a ride.
